Ruth E. MacLeod (Hamilton) of Fredericton, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on August 10, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Mary Jane and Charles Hamilton of Lower St. Mary’s.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Andy) Burns of Fredericton; her sons, Daniel (Linda) MacLeod of West Glassville and Terrance of Fredericton. She is also survived by her grandsons, Mark and Matthew Burns. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary (Rodney) Stone of California, Helen Milne of Ontario and Carol (Reed) Copp of Ontario and her brother, Scott (Pat) Hamilton of Fredericton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Trueman and son, Andrew; her sisters, Dorothy and Ada and brother, Don.
Ruth was a teacher and taught in various schools in Fredericton for 35 years. She was a member of the Lower St. Mary’s Women’s Institute, the Devon Chapter of the Eastern Star and of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Fredericton.
There will be no visitation by request. A requiem mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 780 McEvoy Street on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Father Ian Wetmore officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Ruth’s honor may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. On-line condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.
