It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Guerin announces his passing at York Care Centre on October 8th, 2016 at the age of 89. Born in Tulare, California, on June 4th, 1927, he was husband of the late Lucretia Joan (Tully) Guerin.
Richard leaves behind his daughter, Francesca Theriault (Monique) of Lincoln, NB; grandchildren, Alexander Richard William, Danielle Abby Lea, and Ashton Guerin Colby. In addition to his wife, Lucretia, he was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Irene (Garlock) Guerin; son, Mark, who passed away in 1972; and sister, Virginia Guerin.
Richard was a writer and professor at UNB. Richard loved hiking and spending time outside, reading, and most of all being the best father and grandfather. His nickname was Woggie, given to him 20 years ago by his oldest grandson Alexander. Richard was an amazing english professor.
By request of the family, there will be no funeral service or visitation at this time. For those who wish, donations in Richard’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
