It is with sadness that the family of Susan L. (Foster) Beyer announces her death at York Care Centre on Sunday, May 13th, 2018. Born in Burtts Corner, NB, on December 22, 1930, she was the wife of the late John Beyer.
Susan leaves behind her son, Andrew Beyer (Mary) of Ottawa, ON; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tammy Beyer; sister, Edwina Holland (Hartley); brothers, Bill Canney (Linda), Paul Canney, John Canney (Sheila), George Canney (Patsy), Jim Canney (Judy), and Ron Canney (Pam); as well as her nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, John, Susan was predeceased by her parents, Harry Foster and Violet (McCoy) Canney; sons, Micheal and Stephen Beyer.
Susan was a woman of many talents. In the 1970’s, her and John had a riding stable with Morgan horses and they raised Shelties for many years. She was an avid quilter, amazing seamstress, and also did oil paintings and tole painting. She loved to be busy. Susan will be missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff in Birch Grove at York Care Centre where Susan was treated with such care and respect. You are truly an amazing group of people.
A memorial service will be held from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory can be made to York Care Foundation, Alzheimers Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
