Kenneth Loring Ryan
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Ken L. Ryan (AKA "Tinker") of Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB.
Ken had a 30 year career with Canadian Tire in Brampton, ON but upon retirement he couldn’t wait to return home to Fredericton to reconnect with his family and old friends. He was a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion where he was often found dancing, playing darts or just making new friends. When his son, Wayne was young, Ken was the ultimate "sports dad." They were usually found at the hockey rink all winter and on the baseball fields all summer, leaving many lasting memories.
He is survived by his son, Wayne (Candy) and grandson, Aiden all of Brampton, ON and his sisters, Linda Clark (Robert "Bev") of Dartmouth, NS and Brenda McAleer (Purney) of Oak Point, NB.
Predeceased by his mother, Norma Hayward and step father, Lloyd Hayward.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Elizabeth Tait, his neighbor and good friend, who did so much for Ken and helped our family in so many ways. And to Karen Lake, Health at Home, Care Navigator, for her support, dedication, compassion and commitment to our family and especially to Ken during his time at the OPH and the DECH. We appreciate everything you did for us and we are forever grateful! We also wish to thank the Doctors and Nursing Staff of 4SE at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for their kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion shown to Ken while he was in your care.
Ken lived his last years quietly and wished to leave quietly thus, at his request, there will be no services. For those who wish, memorial tributes in his honor may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
