Roland Robichaud

1933-2019

Roland Robichaud

Roland Robichaud, our beloved father, passed away on April 6, 2019, at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Gibeau, son Martin (Jacalyn), daughters Renee and Elaine (Glen), grandchildren Alex, Ruby, Max; one sister Claudette Arsenault (Frederic), uncle Rheal Cormier, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Justice Albany M. Robichaud and Dorina Cormier, brother Camilien and sister Camille. Roland was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick on August 3rd, 1933. He was the third child born to his parents, Justice Albany M. Robichaud and Dorina Cormier, brother to Camille, Camilien and Claudette.

He was a graphic artist who graduated from l'Ecole des beaux-arts de Montreal, where he met his wife Ruby. Although Roland and Ruby separated years later, they remained close and family always came first. A joker, he never could resist an opportunity to make someone laugh. A musician, he often played drums at local dances in his college days. A Montreal Canadiens fan, he lived there for many years, had his three children, Martin, Renee and Elaine, and worked in advertising agencies. He then moved to Fredericton to work wonders for Tourism New Brunswick, more advertising agencies, and later started his own business (The Ad House). He was most proud of his three children and three grandchildren whom he truly enjoyed spending time with. After a short but very aggressive fight with cancer, Roland passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Always with a smile, he was a kind, hard-working, detail oriented man, who will be dearly missed by his whole family.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13th, 2019 from 4-6 PM. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
