Charles Gerald Charlton
With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of C. Gerald Charlton of Fredericton, NB, on October 11, 2019 with his family by his side at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Gerald was born in Fredericton Junction, NB on November 23rd, 1943.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Faye Charlton (Perkins) of Fredericton; mother, Madeline Charlton of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Karen (Steven) Cliff and granddaughters, Amber and Chelsea Cliff of Fredericton, NB; son, Mark (Patricia) Charlton and granddaughter, Eldora of Prospect, NS; aunts, uncles, cousins, and mother-in-law, Lillian Perkins. He was predeceased by his father, Harry C. Charlton and infant sister, Grace Ann Charlton.
Gerald retired from NB Power where he worked in the mechanical engineering department for 31 years. After retirement he took on a short career in real estate. He enjoyed camping, hunting, politics, watching hockey and spending time with family, especially his granddaughters. Gerald loved his dogs and enjoyed spending time with them over the years.
Visitation and funeral services to be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, Fredericton, NB. The visitation will be on Monday, October 14th, from 6-8 pm, and the funeral service on Tuesday, October 15th at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the DECH, in particular, the staff of the ICU for their support and care over the past 9 months. Would also like to thank the staff of the Stan Cassidy Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
