Anne H. McInnis
It is with sadness that the family of Anne McInnis announces her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the age of 95. Born in Fredericton, NB, on March 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Clara (Simmons) Smith.
Anne leaves behind her brother, Robert Smith of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Roberta Smith; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Mary Ellen McCoy. In addition to her parents Anne was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ellen Wood; brothers, Leslie and James Smith; sister, Elva Allen.
Anne worked as a Lab Technician for the Federal Department of Forestry for 25 years. She had many interests and was a member of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society and the DECH Hospital Auxilliary. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxilliary and was the first female president of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. Anne was a long time member of All Saints Anglican Church in Marysville.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service beginning at 1:45 pm. A memorial service will be held from All Saints Anglican Church in Marysville on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Kevin McAllister will officiate. Interment will take place in All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, donations in Anne’s memory can be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 Poppy Fund.
