The death of Laurie LeBlanc, age 75, of New Maryland, NB occurred on Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Minto, NB he was the son of the late Arthur and Alma (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.
Laurie retired in 1996 from the Province of New Brunswick where he had been employed as an accountant. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Knights of Columbus Council 1942, and a Member of the Fredericton Amateur Radio Club and held the Call VE9OY.
Survived by his wife and the love of his life, Cecile (Lynch) LeBlanc; daughter, Margo LeBlanc of Fredericton; two sons, Eugene LeBlanc of Calgary and Michael (Cathi) LeBlanc and their son Braedon of Fredericton; sisters, Loretta McTiernan of Fredericton and Lena (Allison) Bishop of Minto; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Laurie was predeceased by one sister, Stella McRae.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 from 4-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 27th at 11 am from Sts. John and Paul Roman Catholic Church, New Maryland, with Fr. Mark Trzop officiating. Interment will take place in Saint Bridget's Cemetery, Minto, in the spring.
