Obituary of Juanita Fowler

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Welma Juanita (Craig) Fowler of Fredericton, NB on March 27, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1935 in East Florence Ville, NB to Welma Juanita (Foster) Craig and Harold LeRoy Craig.

Juanita graduated from the University of New Brunswick with honors in English and History. She enjoyed gardening, furniture refinishing, watching figure skating and was an avid reader.  She kept an active exercise routine throughout her days and almost never missed her walks.  Juanita was an independent woman of strong will and kindness.  She was gentle soul, much like her mother, never forgetting anyone's birthday.  In her early days Juanita was in the Air Force.

Juanita had life long friends with whom she played bridge with regularly. These ladies would talk and chuckle for many hours over a meal and cards. They were a close knit group who supported each other through life. Juanita enjoyed taking trips with her family and especially with her sister Rayma Dawn.

Juanita was a devoted Christian who was a life long member of Christ Church Cathedral and strongly believed in assisting others.  For 19 years she taught adult literacy through the Literacy Council of New Brunswick.

Predeceased by her sisters Rayma Dawn, Sonia and Colleen, and her brothers Dale and Harold LeRoy (Buddy).  Juanita is survived by her two brothers, Terry and Peter (Jo-Anne), her two sons, Kevin (Susan) and Ross (Lisa); daughter Paige; grandchildren, Emily, Gregory and Jenna, and her great grandchild, Shaelee.

The family would like thank the staff at Everett Chalmers Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care of Juanita.

In keeping with Juanita's wishes, there will be no visitation.  A funeral will take place on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Literacy Council or a charity of the donor's choice.
