Obituary of Frank Kostelnik

With sad hearts we announce the passing of Frank Kostelnik on March 23, 2024, in his 90th year. He was born in Apatin, a town on the Danube River in the former Yugoslavia, to the late Franz and Therezia Kostelnik.

He is survived by his life partner, Linda Bradley, daughters Christel Hutchison (John Donkers) and Michelle Ramsay (Brent), grandsons Scot and Eric, granddaughter Kate, nephew Norbert Kostelnik, nieces Ingrid Kostelnik and Lori Watson (John) and the mother of his girls, Monika Bernardo. He will be dearly missed by Linda's family and his good friend, Herb Thompson. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Rosi Hermann and Nick Kostelnik, and his niece Christine Hermann.

Frank came to Canada with his parents in 1957 to join his brother and sister in Windsor, Ontario. As a youth he was very athletic and a champion kayaker, travelling all over Europe. He was adept at languages, and spoke German, Hungarian, Serbian and later English fluently. In Canada he became a successful businessman, a master woodworker, cabinet maker and salmon fisherman. He had a large group of friends who enjoyed his homemade sausage, wine and Windsor-style pizza parties.

As per Frank's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in Fredericton at a later date with interment in Windsor, Ontario. For those who wish donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

We are very thankful to the staff at Medley Hall for their excellent care during his short stay there.
